Using Christmas as a boundary in leadership

By Andre Ottlik Β· Β· 2 min read

It's almost Christmas. πŸŽ„

Everything is super stressful and everyone is in the final sprint. The To Do list gets longer rather than shorter at the end of the year and secretly many of us wish it would please be over soon.

Who has luck, may already before in the Christmas vacation, who has bad luck must work even between the years. Christmas is supposed to be a time of reflection and not a time of madness!

And exactly here lies the Crux: It is G.U.T. that we have an imposed Slow Down! Because we humans are now so much on Schneller! Further! Better! that if we didn't sometimes have exactly these limits, our body would probably soon tell us: Enough now. Do it on your own! 🫳🏽🎀 #dropthemic

πŸ’« Attention, little reminder! No matter how much we love our job, we are just more than this. For this reason, boundaries have become incredibly important, even if we still don't find it easy to stick to them. This is where we get to be better! #resolution2023

πŸ“An impulse to you. Set boundaries and try to stick to them. Take breaks, get off work, and take vacations too. And even if you can't afford to do any of it for long, at least do it consciously! And keep reminding yourself that you are more than your work. What does this mean for you as a leader and for your team?

A good leader who knows when to pause will pass that on to his team. Recharge. Work. Recharge.

☝️ A good leader who knows boundaries, takes breaks, recharges his resources, allows his people to do the same.

☝️ A good leader who thinks not only about himself, thinks first of all about his team!

☝️ In this sense, Merry Christmas Everyone! Be generous, love each other, take a step back and let your eyes sparkle again!
