How Eisenhower can make your life easier

Leader Question: What do you do first?

Prioritizing tasks can often be challenging for many people. To help you decide what you should do first between deadlines, new ideas, staff meetings, and many other to dos, we have a helpful tool. #wegotyou

Have you heard of the Eisenhower matrix?

Yes? Good for you, then here's a little refresher.

No. Then watch this:

This method is based on dividing tasks into four quadrants, defined according to their urgency and importance.

1️⃣ Urgent and Important: These are the tasks you should do immediately.

Imagine you're leading a team working on an important client project and you're close to a deadline. Unexpectedly, a key person drops out due to illness. Your top priority should be to distribute the person's tasks to other team members.

2️⃣ Important but not Urgent: These tasks can be planned and prioritized.

Imagine you are responsible for creating a long-term business strategy for the next 5 years.

3️⃣ Urgent but not Important: These tasks can be delegated.

Imagine you get an advertising call from a cell phone provider.

4️⃣ Neither Urgent nor Important: These tasks can often be eliminated or postponed.

You're invited to a meeting with no agenda, for example, where you know your participation isn't required.

Notice:

Make sure you spend less and less time in quadrant 3 and 4. Keep useless to-dos at bay.

If you only have important things on your schedule that you absolutely have to / want to do, you only have to prioritize according to urgency...

If you use this matrix when planning your To Dos, you can better structure your priorities and make sure that you center your time and energy on the important and urgent tasks. This will help you work more effectively and achieve better results for you and your team.

Let's do this! 🚀
