Using profiling in leadership
Profiling "It's a Match!" 🫶📈
Have you ever wondered what casting shows, recruiters and online dating platforms have in common? At its core, it's about finding the 1 person who best fits into the team. Team relationship or team business, it's about finding the greatest match for yourself and your team.
Not so easy, because the entire personality and performance spectrum of a person is huge and not so easy to grasp when you first meet or read through a CV.
Let's stay in business: Many companies fill their positions according to professional skills, soft skills, motivation & team fit. But it also makes sense to consider how decisive someone is, whether the energy is right and to what extent their way of thinking and working fits into the team! Because of course everyone shows their best side. But how can we blink behind the "facade" and avoid overlooking the right person? How can we predict the behavior in the future position? This is where classic methods quickly reach their limits.
Profiling can help you create a better understanding of your team! Profiling? This is not the criminal investigation department... True, but in other countries so-called business profiling is already used effectively and fills up to 60% of positions. In order to capture all job-relevant characteristics and personal traits, a combination of intuition & specially developed measuring instruments is needed. Various personality assessment tools such as the Big Five personality tests, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator or DISC reveal the behavioral aspects of a candidate: Motivation, emotional intelligence, compatibility, performance, values, preferences and cognitive abilities. When hiring, this helps narrow down candidates with the greatest potential.
☝️Merke: Professional skills are easier to acquire than motives and traits that fit into the team.
